Netflix recommendation on K-Dramas, what will come next?
Aioli everyone, we hope you have all been well, this week we want to continue with the K-Drama vibes and share with you all the last 5 K-Dramas that Netflix has recommended for us. While we know there are lots of places online where you can watch your favourite K-Dramas, we have stuck with Netflix as we feel it is what works best for us, but we always have lots of fun checking out what sorts of dramas, Netflix have recommended us based on our previous viewing habits.
Marriage Contract - Currently Watching
This drama was our most recent Netflix recommendation. As the title suggests, the storyline of this drama is focused on 2 people who are very different in lifestyle and character, faking being in a marriage to avoid society and family obligations. We are about halfway through the drama, and we can see why Netflix has recommended based on our past watching lots of romance and fantasy dramas.
My Name
If we had not been recommended this drama by Netflix, we doubt we would have ever watched this drama, but solely based on its name alone, we would have never picked the storyline either, but on reflection after watching it, the name of the drama fits it so well. We don't want to give away any spoilers, but it is a drama focused on names, the respect a name can hold and loyalty to family and friends and the law. This recommendation came left of field for us, but was a good watch even though at times can be a little gory.
Celebrity
Based on the name of this drama we thought it could be something to do with being a K-pop idol or something similar, but it was based on the social media platform Instagram and its influence on people, to condense it without giving away any spoilers, it was based on an Instagram user who raised to fame quickly and the struggles she faced, while not romantic it was a new aged drama, and we think Netflix recommend this drama based on the crime and influence in it.
Tail of the Nine-Tailed
We can certainly see why Netflix recommend this drama to us, love, romance and fantasy, it was picked straight from our previous watching habits, if you are familiar with Korean folklore and history then this drama is for you too, it tells the tale of a nine-tailed fox who falls in love with a human woman, this drama was a classic back in the day, it was already on defiantly on our to watch list.
Nevertheless
This is another drama that if Netflix hadn't recommended to us, we wouldn't have watched it, but this drama for us was a bit weak in its storyline, the back story of the main male lead was confusing to follow and that made it harder to follow the female lead's story. The drama is set in an art university where one of the female students falls in love with a younger popular male student from another department and portrays their story of love and growth.
Going Forward
Thanks to Netflix for the wide range of recommendations, we feel like we have had a taste of everything from fantasy and romance to crime and even murder, and we are excited to see what you recommend us next. If you watch K-Dramas on Netflix too, we are curious to hear what they have recommended you.
